Patukeha Hapū appointed me as a formal Trustee to Te Whakaaetanga Trust in 2023 and I currently hold the position of Secretary. 

Over the past 15 years I have held multiple roles for Patukeha; 

- Ngāti Kuta Patukeha Joint Hapū Coordinator for WAI 1140 and WAI 1307 (2011) 

- Appointed by Patukeha as WAI 1140 claimant Nov (2011) 

- Presented before the Waitangi Tribunal May (2013) 

- Party to establishing He Kawenata, the fore runner to Te Whakaaetanga Trust (2016) 

- Signing of Te Whakaaetanga Kawenata MOU Ngāti Manu (Jan 2018) 

- Signing of Te Whakaaetanga Kawenata Ngāti Torehina ki Matakaa (2019) 

- Trustee Te Rūnanga o Patukeha Trust (2020) 

- Interim Patukeha Trustee for Te Whakaaetanga Trust 2021 

- Appointed as a Patukeha Hapū Negotiator (2024) 

It is my privilege and honour to have been on this journey with the whānau/hapū of Te Patukeha. And especially acknowledge our kaumātua Moka Kaenga Maata Puru and Mārara Te Tai-Hook, their kōrerō tuku iho and guidance during this time. Their mana inspires me to strive for our Mana Motuhake Te Patukeha. I also pay tribute to Murphy Shortland for the historical research he shared with me in relation to the map of Ī Pīpiri. 

There are many Hapū hui yet to be held, and I look forward to working with whānau, to listen to your whakaaro/wawata dreams and aspirations for ngā uri whakatupu/future generations of Te Patukeha.
